First Day of School for JC1s

I was sitting in the canteen with Jeya who was told me that she saw two juniors from Cedar Girls.

Shalom and Hui Xian soon joined us but they soon left to look for our juniors. After a while, Hui Qi came over, saying that she saw three juniors. Then, Yan Xin and Mei Bao came over and we all decided to go look for our juniors.

There were about 7 Cedarians in front of the canteen talking to Shalom, Hui Xian and Michelle (our senior) already.

Michelle is back to teach Mathematics! :D

She looks really pretty!!

Anyway, we saw SO MANY people from St Nicks.

There were quite a lot of people from Catholic High and Tanjong Katong Girls' School too!

Here's the TKGS doll. (I can't find one for Cat High..Oh, I forgot all Cat High students had to wear short trousers...)

Last year, there were only two people from TKGS and they are Ruijia and ..

O.O I forgot her name! Sorry!!

There were 20+ people who came to Hwa Chong from Cedar..about 19 came in through JAE. This year, I only saw a total of 12 Cedarians T____T So pathetic.

Their batch did better than mine.. (in the sense that their MSG was higher). However, for my batch, 100% of us were qualified for JCs. Not sure about my juniors.

Anyway, if you are coming to Hwa Chong and you know me, do tell me, okay?

I went to see 动感清明上河图 at the Singapore Expo yesterday!

I did not regret going :D

The 5metres long 'moving painting' was beautiful!!!

I could almost imagine myself to be in back in those days..

"Almost" because I was distracted by the device that explained the painting to us..and the people around us.

Surprisingly, it was quite crowded..

I thought people wouldn't be interested in such things. Besides, this painting has been here for quite a while, I thought there would be no more crowd today..

Heart-wrenching..

I came across this on Facebook a few minutes ago.

While searching for information related to Marta del Castillo on Google, I was hoping it wouldn't be something like the case of Junko Furuta.

(This is Junko Furuta, the girl who was tortured for 44 days before being killed).

Marta del Castillo was 17 years old when she went missing on 4th January 2009. It turned out that she had been raped and killed by her ex-boyfriend Miguel Carcaño because she had rejected his kiss.

Miguel Carcaño was sentenced to 20 years in jail on 13th January 2012. This is so recent! I thought it was some old news..but no!

How is it that he who has raped and killed someone is only sentenced to 20 years of jail!? To make things worse for her family, he has not told what he truly did to her body. The search for her body is still on.

I guess there will always be injustice in this world. As Christians, we look forward to Christ's second coming.. In heaven, we know that there will be no sorrow and no pain. Everything will be perfect. For now, we just have to trust GOD to lead us in our lives.

I can't imagine why people would put it under 'best gore'. I mean, sure, it is really ... disturbing...but still.. Oh, the international scholars danced this for Chinese New Year celebration at Cedar this year. Initially, I thought they choreographed it. Then, I thought it suited the music too well and that they probably learnt it from some MV. It turned out that I was right!

By the way, I really can't imagine dancing in high heels.

I almost twisted my ankle yesterday when I was walking home from church in my 'LOW heels'. Sighs. Come on, don't say that I'm a dancer therefore I can handle high heels. It's so not true for me.

I sat down, playing with shadows.

After a while,

there was lightning a distance away..

Birds started flying around the playground, making weird noises.

I started to wonder if they were bats instead.

Weird noises came from the tree behind me.

One minute later,

I went home.

This was my organic (sighs) dinner... Grapes, coconut and bread.

After our badminton match,
we were sitting around the benches in the sports hall. Rachel and Sean left while SS, Olivia and I tried to book a court for next week. In the end, we did not book any as the timing was too late.

The three of us walked to Junction Eight. SS was hobbling around though, trying to avoid the puddles since his foot injury could not come into contact with water.

Olivia: "It's a pity you are not a girl and we are not guys."
V: "If not we can carry him?"
Olivia: "Yeah, you know why? Because I am muscular."

On our way to J8, we were deciding on what to eat. I declared that I did not want fast food, fried food and spicy food. So we chose Subway!

Right, so I went to church...and sat with the Chinese youths. Quite surprising. Normally, I would choose to sit behind them or something, telling myself that it'd be too much of a bother to make them shift so that I'd have a place to sit.

After service, when the announcements were being made, Sean called me. I hurried out of the sanctuary to answer his call. In my haste, I crashed into the door. That made me even more flustered. I quickly shut the door...and ended up hurting my finger. I have no idea how I did that though.

I went to Room 3-08 to meet Sean ..and I saw Mark Tan (junior) there. Sean went down to get the Hymn book. Hey, you're quite nice to offer to take it for me :)

I went down to pass the tidbits to Samuel before going back up. Sean was back already. He, then, made me demo my hymn improvisation...while he talked to Elizabeth. Sighs. Since when are you so close to Sean, ET? You still haven't told me which school you're going to!

We got chased out of the room. So, we went to the sanctuary where we chatted for a while. On our way there, we met Aunty Rebecca!

After that....

Oh, I found Serene's thumb drive and returned it to her! I wonder why Timothy Ong was waiting for her o.o Lunch, perhaps?

On my way to the playground where Joshie was (What was he doing there?),

Daniel Chua pressed my head ..again =.=

Started talking to him and... I don't know his name o.o so sorry!

Anyway, the second guy (sorry!!) was talking to me about studying overseas and I followed him to the clubhouse. He wanted to give his whole box of books to me and Vanessa. Soooo, I messaged Joshie to come help me. What a pleasant surprise, he actually agreed. Thank you so much, Joshie! However, I only took two books in the end..so I carried them myself ^^"

We took the bus to J8. Ah, saw Andrew, Junipher and Nathanael (Joshaniel's brother)! Andrew went to take bus at the bus interchange while Junipher and Nat continued walking in front of us. I was wondering if they were dating. HAH! I knew it! :D Their FB status changed!!!

By the way, Nathanael looks too much like Joshaniel. So scary..

That's right! This is my THIRD post for 28th November 2011 (Sunday). Too many things happened on that day!

After listening to Praise Choir sing in the chapel, I left with Rachel. We walked all the way to Bishan Sports Hall together. On our way there, we had a HTHT! Hmm, Rachel, I still don't see what's so good about having a crush on someone!

At the sports hall, we saw Olivia playing against Shuan Siang.

(My arm still hurts, so I WON'T BE BLOGGING MUCH!)

We decided to play doubles (not that we had any choice since we had only one court). Before we could say anything, Olivia declared, "I play with Rachel!"

Mm, so SS was stuck with me. ^^

I think we made quite a great brother-sister team, don't you think, SS KORKOR? :P
Ahh, he reminded me too much of Samuel!

They are way too similar. WAY TOO SIMILAR!

Anyway, after not playing for a long time, I took quite a while to get used to playing badminton again. It was fun playing with them for a change! I've always been playing with either the Chinese youths or my classmates. It was nice to have other people to play with!

By the way, SS, you and Samuel spoiled me!

I grew lazy playing with them, knowing that they would ALWAYS get the difficult ones. ^^"

I finally got to meet the 'legendary Sean'! He joined SS and I.

Then, the three girls teamed up against the two boys.

Soon, SS VSed Sean while Rachel VS me (Singles..two courts).

He went easy on me initially but when he did a smash shot.....

Let's just say...Sean and I have 'no chemistry'.

We were not exactly at each other's throats.

I wasn't agitated..

So I STILL don't understand why SS, Rachel and even Olivia kept watching us worriedly like we would kill each other.

My Sign Language teacher has told us to be expressive when signing. I couldn't understand how we could be expressive by just signing with our hands. Now I understand that signing, like dancing, singing and playing the piano, involves the whole body and heart!

今天，我们上了今年第二个文学课！昨天是任老师的课，今天是由陈博士教我们。陈博士要我们写下我们最宝贵的东西或人。她说，要我们写下来，然后，读了《最宝贵的》（小说）后，再看我们所写下的。

我本来想写‘情’的。因为情包括了亲情、爱情和友情。这些都是我所注重的。但是，当我开始动笔的当儿，陈博士突然说，“就是⋯⋯你们可以为他（它）牺牲自己的生命的。一点也不会犹豫，就像母亲可以随时以她自己的生命换取孩子的一样。”

我就想，“我可以为了智恩、游敏、孟路他们，为了爱情和友谊，不顾一切地付出自己的生命，还得在不犹豫的情况下做到吗？”想了很久，我终于写了 “家人” 。我本来要写 “耶稣”，但是，我不知道自己是否可以像那些爱主爱到不怕死、视死如归的人一样⋯

Looks Can Be Deceiving

FeG is so pretty and cute! RhC too! AmT too!

Ah, in our games group, AmT was so quiet! I worried for a while that I scared her off when I fooled around with Caleb. Oh, oh...that sounds wrong! Okay, when I..got bullied by Caleb! Haha, it's more like the other way round..Caleb getting bullied by me!
We were in the corridor that leads to the chapel, waiting for our turn at the next game station. Caleb was the group leader and was holding our Har Gau (awesome, I was in Har Gau! My favourite dim sum besides Xiao Long Bao!) flag. I joked, "Caleb, fan me."

He did that typical Caleb face and went, "Why should I?"

I replied, "Cos you're my slave?"
Caleb thought for a moment before nodding. He started fanning me.

Wow, who knew the flag was such a great fan? ~~Last year~~ Two years ago, when Chi Yan was playing with Ixora flag during sports day, I couldn't even feel a breeze when she swung it!

Either the fan is great or Caleb is a natural fan-ner.

He never once hit me with the flag too! O_O so amazing..haha

Sighs, gotta read STOMP/FB/Twitter and well..news!

Last time, STOMP was all about people sitting on reserved seats.
It, then, became flooded with news from China AND HATE COMMENTS from xenophobic Singaporeans....whom I can understand. It was soooo interesting to read their comments (minus those with cuss words and capital letters) and use them in my GSC essay!! ^_^

I had the best time studying for GSC..

It was extremely interesting!

We could do our own research using STOMP and FB! Well, to get RELATIVELY more credible news, we had to read 社论 of 联合早报! It's the first time I started reading newspapers...let alone CHINESE newspapers. I enjoyed it though. Uh, I mean, I enjoyed studying for GSC in general. I still remember spending a long time looking at some MP's Facebook page!!

On Monday night, Rachel and I struggled to carry/drag the stacks of chairs away from the mirror to this side of the room. Back then, there were only three stacks of chairs, which meant that there were more chairs per stack =.=

We went to the fourth level and saw a clothes stall outside the video shop.

We spent about 10 minutes waiting for the person tending the stall to appear because Meng Lu and Kai Sing both liked a dress.

While they waited, I noticed two dresses!

Kai Sing said she would choose the first one while Meng Lu preferred the second one.

I found the first one elegant and the second one sweet-looking..

Oh well, I didn't buy them :)

After finding out the price of the dress the two of them had been eyeing,

we left for Mini Toons.

These chickens reminded us of Ruijia (and Bei Xue)!

AGAIN, a few seconds after she said that,

she went crazy over a soft toy---Stitch.

Meng Lu: OOH! Stitch! Wait, is it Lilo?

V: Lilo???

V: Oh, Stitch! Haha, how can it be Lilo? Lilo is the..the..

Meng Lu: the girl?

V: Yeah

Meng Lu: SO CUUUUTE

V: ... You said soft toys are childish?

Meng Lu: Stitch is cute! *declares*

V: I think it's weird..

V: *takes a closer look*

V: Okay, I see why people like Stitch now...

V: but my penguin is cuter.

Meng Lu: Who says so

V: Ask..Ask Kai Sing?

Saleslady: The penguin is cuter

V: HAHA! See!

It's also the one I hugged as I stood alone in Popular bookstore while

the rest (Joshie, Yumin..and Lisa????) hanged out together..

Next, we went to Nex.

Um...to replace my old clothes, I bought these..

They were discounted though!

Really cheap for clothes of such quality!

Dance

I finally got to see the video of my dance!
Eew, this is so embarrassing... when I did my pirouettes, my FBTs could be seen.. eew
That's what I get for not wearing proper dance attire..

Sighs, my technique isn't there at all..

Well, I finished choreographing it only a few days ago.
I'll just do my best for GOD.

I suppose, it doesn't matter much if my friends are there or not because ultimately, I'm dancing for GOD.

I just finished choreographing the dance routine for my solo about an hour ago..and the musical is just tomorrow!
